Poster - Empatbelas Collab - Kelantan
Introducing Thomas Wee from Kelantan!
What’s the story behind the artwork?
Creating “The Kelate Kid” parody poster illustration is more than an artistic endeavor for me; it reflects my personal journey. It is a tribute to the lessons I have learned and the experiences I have had growing up as a minority Chinese in the predominantly Malay state of Kelantan.
Just like Daniel LaRusso, I have found strength in hard work, wisdom in cultural exchange, and the importance of what’s in your heart. Through this illustration, I hope to share my story and celebrate the values that unite us all as Malaysians, regardless of our backgrounds, race, & religion.
"Now his super cun design has turned into a gempak set of must-have merchandise—T-shirts, tote bags, posters, postcards, and notebooks!"
